You may have heard about a major announcement made at the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce on November 21st. We are pleased to finally spill the beans on Project Firewater, a $1,9000,000,000 (yes, billion) investment by Natgasoline, LLC. Natgasoline is a subsidiary of Orascom Construction Industries which recently purchased and refurbished the shuttered Terra Industries facility. The Natgasoline facility will be the first methanol facility of this scale and will be the largest in the United States based on capacity. In addition to local incentives, the project will receive a $2,1000,000 grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund. View the full press release HERE.

Ray Perryman recently highlighted the growth in Southeast Texas with his "An Economic Overview" report. Of significance is the recognition of the Port of Beaumont by the Railway Industrial Clearance Association as the most improved port in the country. Over $65,000,000 in improvements are currently planned for the Port of Beaumont.

As you can see there are many reasons to give thanks this holiday season. We are blessed to live in a region where economic growth is abundant. SETEDF will continue to work on behalf of Southeast Texas to continue the good work.
